Itinerary

Follow our carefully planned Mount Manaslu Expedition 8,163 m 38 Days itinerary, designed with proper acclimatization and comfortable trekking days throughout the journey.

Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. Receive a warm VIP welcome from our expedition concierge team and transfer via private vehicle to your 5-star luxury hotel (Dwarika's / Marriott). In the evening, attend a comprehensive expedition briefing with your expedition leader over a welcome dinner.

Day 1

Overnight: Day 1

Note:

Attend the official expedition briefing at the Ministry of Tourism with the appointed government liaison officer. Complete gear checks and test Summit/Poisk oxygen regulators, high-altitude masks, jumar ascenders, and 8000M triple boots with your personal climbing Sherpa.

Day 2

Overnight: Day 2

Note:

Depart Kathmandu early morning in private 4WD vehicles. Drive along the Prithvi Highway past Malekhu, turning north toward Dhading Besi and Arughat. Follow the roaring Budhi Gandaki river canyon to arrive at the trailhead settlement of Machha Khola.

Hike through the narrow river gorge, crossing suspension bridges and passing natural hot springs at Tatopani. Climb stone staircases past Dobhan and Yaruphant, crossing the cantilever cliff-bridge over the Budhi Gandaki to reach the stone-paved village of Jagat to register MCAP permits.

Note:

Follow the ascending riverbed through bamboo, pine, and oak forests past Salleri and Sirdibas. Cross the suspension bridge at Philim, passing Buddhist Mani walls and entering the cultural Tibetan Nubri corridor through the village of Deng.

Day 5

Note:

Ascend through dense rhododendron and fir cloud forests, traversing steep gorge trails with views of Siringi Himal. Cross wooden bridges over the Budhi Gandaki, climbing stone steps through the traditional Buddhist village of Prok to reach Namrung.

Day 6

Enter the wide alpine valley of Nubri. Walk through terraced barley fields and apple orchards past Lihi and Sho. Arrive in the large Tibetan stone village of Lho (3,180 m), enjoying your first close-up view of the double-peaked summit of Mount Manaslu from the Ribung Gompa courtyard.

A gentle morning trek through pine and juniper woods past Shyala village with panoramas of Himal Chuli and Peak 29. Arrive in the historic cultural capital of Sama Gaun (3,530 m), exploring ancient mani walls, chortens, and the historic Kargyu Buddhist monastery.

Dedicated acclimatization day. Hike to the glacial turquoise waters of Birendra Lake and ascend toward the high hermitage of Pungyen Gompa on the glacier plateau beneath Manaslu's eastern face before returning to Sama Gaun.

Day 9

Note:

Depart Sama Gaun, climbing through birch and dwarf juniper scrub along the lateral moraine of the Manaslu Glacier. Ascend steep rocky switchbacks to establish Manaslu Base Camp (4,800 m / 15,748 ft) on the glacial bench directly facing the Northeast Face.

Expedition Lama and Sherpa team conduct the sacred Buddhist Puja ceremony, consecrating crampons, ice axes, and climbing flags. Conduct intensive fixed-line ascending, ladder navigation, and self-arrest practice on the lower glacier ice seracs.

21-Day Climbing & Summit Window:
• Rotation 1: Ascend moraine and lower icefall to Camp 1 (5,700 m). Climb the technical icefall section (crevasses, snow ladders, fixed lines) to touch Camp 2 (6,400 m) on the glacier plateau, then descend to Base Camp.
• Rotation 2: Climb to Camp 1, sleep at Camp 2, and push up to touch Camp 3 (6,800 m) across sustained 40° snow slopes before returning to Base Camp for full rest and physiological recovery.
• Summit Push: Waiting for a multi-day high-pressure weather window, ascend sequentially: Base Camp → Camp 1 (5,700 m) → Camp 2 (6,400 m) → Camp 3 (6,800 m / begin 2L/min oxygen) → Camp 4 (7,400 m on the high col / increase oxygen to 3-4L/min).
• Summit Night: Depart Camp 4 at 11:00 PM. Climb the upper Northeast Face snow ramps, ascending the plateau beneath the summit ridge.
