Kori Trek – Kori Danda and Shiklesh
The 5-Day Kori Trek is an exceptional short wilderness ridge route northeast of Pokhara in the Annapurna foothills. Rising to 3,800 meters (12,467 ft), Kori Danda is an expansive alpine plateau situated directly beneath the soaring southern faces of Lamjung Himal and Annapurna II. Beginning from the slate-roofed Gurung heritage settlement of Sikles, the trail climbs steadily through pristine oak and rhododendron cloud forests past the high herding pastures of Tasa and Nohtha. The summit plateau of Kori delivers an unblocked, front-row amphitheater view of Lamjung Himal, Annapurna II, Annapurna IV, and Mount Fishtail, offering an authentic off-the-beaten-path escape without commercial trekking crowds.

Itinerary
Follow our carefully planned Kori Trek – Kori Danda and Shiklesh itinerary, designed with proper acclimatization and comfortable trekking days throughout the journey.
Depart Lakeside Pokhara early morning by private 4WD vehicle along the scenic Madi River valley. Drive past terraced rice fields, subtropical river gorges, and cascading waterfalls to reach Sikles (1,980 m)—one of Nepal's largest and most traditional Gurung heritage settlements. Spend the afternoon exploring slate-paved alleyways, visiting the village eco-museum, and watching sunset over Annapurna II and Lamjung Himal.
Day 1
Climb out of Sikles along stone-cut trails through terraced crops before entering dense, uninhabited subtropical forests of oak, bamboo, and blooming rhododendron. Follow the ascending ridge trail past small mountain streams and rocky cascades, taking in sweeping views across the Madi canyon to reach the high seasonal pastoral clearing of Tasa or Hugu.
Day 2
Ascend through ancient moss-covered birch and rhododendron cloud forests, breaking out above the tree line onto open grassy alpine pastures. Climb steady switchbacks along the mountain spine to reach the wide plateau of Kori Danda (3,800 m). Settle into your mountain lodge and enjoy an evening sunset painting Lamjung Himal (6,988 m), Annapurna II (7,937 m), and Machhapuchhre in glowing golden hues.
Day 3
Wake early to the lodge terrace for an unobstructed 360-degree sunrise panorama illuminating the Annapurna massif and the deep gorge of the Madi River. After breakfast, begin a long, scenic descent retracing the forest trail past Tasa and the high pastures. Drop back into the welcoming atmosphere of Sikles village for an evening celebration with local host families.
Day 4
Enjoy a relaxed morning exploring traditional handloom weaving workshops and organic farms in Sikles. Savor a final local breakfast with mountain views before boarding your private 4WD vehicle for the scenic return drive along the valley highway back to your hotel in Lakeside Pokhara.
