Follow our carefully planned Pikey Peak Trek 6 Days itinerary, designed with proper acclimatization and comfortable trekking days throughout the journey.

Depart Kathmandu early morning by private 4WD vehicle along the BP Highway, following the Sun Koshi River eastward before climbing through scenic hill ridges past Okhaldhunga to Dhap (2,850 m). Meet your porter team and begin walking along a gentle forested ridge path adorned with prayer flags and rhododendrons to reach the serene Sherpa village of Jhapre, enjoying distant views of Mount Everest and Numbur Himal.

Day 1

Overnight: Day 1

Note:

Climb steadily through ancient pine, fir, and birch forests draped in moss. Break out of the tree line onto open grassy alpine pastures past seasonal yak-herding kharkas and centuries-old Buddhist Mani walls. Follow the scenic ridge contouring beneath Pikey Peak to arrive at the stone lodges of Pikey Peak Base Camp, resting early in preparation for the pre-dawn summit climb.

Ascend under headlamps up the gentle grassy switchbacks to the prayer-flag-crowned summit of Pikey Peak (4,065 m). Watch the morning sun ignite a 360-degree panorama of six 8,000 m giants: Mount Everest (8,848 m), Kanchenjunga (8,586 m), Lhotse (8,516 m), Makalu (8,485 m), Cho Oyu (8,188 m), and Manaslu (8,163 m). Descend through rhododendron forests to Jasmane Bhanjyang for breakfast, continuing down stone pathways to the traditional Sherpa cultural hub of Junbesi.

Note:

Take a morning side trek up the Junbesi valley to visit Thupten Chholing Monastery, a historic 19th-century Tibetan Buddhist monastic center founded by Kyabje Trulshik Rinpoche. Interact with resident monks and nuns before retracing down to Junbesi. Follow the stone path along the riverbank past apple orchards and the traditional settlement of Beni to check into your lodge in Phaplu or Salleri.

Board your private 4WD vehicle in Salleri for the scenic overland journey winding through the middle hills of eastern Nepal. Trace the Sun Koshi river corridor back onto the BP Highway, arriving in Kathmandu by late afternoon to check into your hotel in Thamel for hot showers and relaxation.
