The Rara Lake & Karnali Wilderness Motorbike Tour is an off-the-beaten-track expedition taking riders deep into the untamed terrain of Far-Western Nepal. Centered around Rara Lake—Nepal’s largest and deepest alpine body of water, resting at 2,990 meters inside Rara National Park—this journey leads through remote pine forests, deep river gorges, and ancient riverbank civilizations that few foreign travelers ever witness.

Departing the central lowlands, the route joins the infamous Karnali Highway, winding along cliff cuts flanking the thundering Karnali River. Riders tackle challenging dirt tracks, stream beds, and gravel switchbacks through Kalikot to the historic town of Jumla and the Sinja Valley, the ancient birthplace of the modern Khas (Nepali) language. Climbing through alpine passes and rhododendron forests, the trail leads to the boundary of Rara National Park, where the forest gives way to the deep turquoise waters of the lake.
